Inside the Brilliant Mind of William Saito

In 1969 the Saito’s moved to the United States.Two years later on the 23rd of March, the young couple gave birth to a precious baby boy that was given the name William. Being the first of three children, there was no way that they could have known that this baby, this little bundle of joy, would soon become one of the greatest Japanese American minds of all time. By the impressive age of 10, William Saito started an internship to learn computer programming. Technology quickly became his drive so when he started his own software firm a few years later in college it came as very little surprise to the people who knew him. This firm created IO software that not only advanced the fingerprint recognition system but also produced a system that translates the modern Japanese Writing System into English.

From earning the label of Entrepreneur of the Year in 1998 by Ernst & Youngs to being an advisor for the government of Japan, William continued to rise to the top. In 2000, with the future of Microsoft windows in mind, Sony decided to partner up with William and the IO software. Four short years later William sold the IO business assets to Microsoft and left for Japan. While being in the presence of the beauty that Japan had to offer, William dedicated his time into doing great things. From 2013-2017 Mr. Saito was a cybersecurity advisor to the Cabinet Office along side of being an advisor for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in 2016-2017.

William Saito was taught the importance of volunteering at a young age. With not only the influences of his parents but the schools as well, his yearn to make a difference rose rapidly. Because of these lessons being taught so early in his life, it was easy for him to become committed to helping young Japanese entrepreneurs reach their goals of being successful. William is giving an opportunity that wasn’t there for him when he was younger. It is just one of the ways that he gives back to the amazing world that we share. With his life being an unfinished book William looks forward to writing the next chapter. With another page wrote and another entrepreneur helped his journey seems to have only just begun.
